As I had explained to you earlier, I have 5 camera bodies and, the last one I purchased was the EOS R5... along with seven of the Canon EF lenses.

Although there are distinct advantages of buying the new RF lenses to go with a mirrorless body, you can very comfortably use all of your EF lenses with the adapter and with no, noticeable difference at all.

I just completed a 30 day trip through out the southeast United States. I carried with me my EOS R5 and the 5D Mark IV as a backup along with five of the EF lenses. At no point did I or was I disappointed and, actually saw no inconvenience whatsoever....

Yes, my short and long-range goal will be to migrate into the RF lenses but, because of the adapter, I can make that transition at my own pace, after doing all the research I want to do to make sure the lens is the ones that I want to buy.

Cheers

I'd say that that is a great strategy. I would do the very same thing.

Do you happen to know if the R6 also offers automatic focus bracketing? I cannot find any information about this on any websites. Actually, your comment about the R5 focus bracketing is the first time I have heard about this feature on this camera. Canon makes no mention about it on their websites that I could see. If I choose to go with an R5 or R6 it will be only because of this focus stacking ability.

Yes it does. I shot a 19 image focus bracketed photo of a Lilly this morning. The R6 does a great job and is so quiet. I really like this camera. I watched a lot of YouTube videos which helped with the camera setup.

Why yes it does have auto focus bracketing although I have never used it on my R-6. In fact the R-6 does just about everything the R-5 does as far as functions. Video does vary a bit. Most tutorials are the same for the R5and R-6

Awesome, gorgeous shots - and I especially admire that last one

Thank you for taking the time to comment, Joe. The growth, study and photography of cacti and succulents is such a joy for me. Pictures like these are a very personal way to appreciate the plants I grow.

One point you make here is a lot of reviewers have these cameras for only a week or two. One with some experience who have used it for months would have a better feel for it. Maybe not a professional , but if they have used it in the manner you are going to...
