Great scenery and subject. Would love to have been there! However, IMHO the image is a bit too compressed, and you lose any depth or sense of isolation that must have been there. I showed the picture to my wife, and unprompted she asked if it was a composite image. Did you use a long lens for this? Perhaps in post you could do something to make the cabin more distinct and isolated from the background.
This would also be fun converted to B&W.
You are correct, jederick. And it is a great photo.

beautiful shot, jederick! all that's missing are the curtains.
That’s nice--excellent composition and interesting subject matter.
That's for sure. Very nice, jederick.

Beautifully done, Jim. You captured the genuine “ little house on the prairie”.
It's been a while since I heard his name mentioned. Nice photo.
That's a great find. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Nice shot. Were it not for the cattle panels leaning up again the corral you might have thought this photo was
made in the 1800s.
Bet you might find a big snake around there somewhere.
Thought about photoshopping those darn panels out and, probably should have. I've admired and photographed this scene many times over the years...this is probably the best of those attempts. Thanks for stopping by trackmag and I'll keep an eye out for that big snake!!
