I am not speaking to the CDC guidance. I happen to consider it fairly reliable. I'm referring to the hysterical headlines and biased opinions from the MSM about Trump's failings we had to deal with for 4 years and how you and others on the UHH evidently continue to drink their kool-aid with their denials about Biden's failings and other lies such as the recent one CBS generated regarding Governor DeSantis' comments regarding the v***s.

I should have assured you earlier that I neither watch nor respond favorably to hysterics - regardless of source.

I do read thoughtfully written opinion and analysis pieces, and if it's something I care about, I try to corroborate via several sources. For example, I educated myself about the highly misleading comment Brian Kemp made when comparing Colorado v****g laws to Georgia's when MLB moved their All-Star game. I'm not sure which is worse: that he thinks people are too stupid to know better, or that they don't care that what he said is nonsense.

I ignored politics for seven years, until early 2020, so I have admittedly missed a lot. What I remember is that the country had become terribly divided by 2012 (earlier?). Obviously, it has gotten much worse because so many people are unwilling to listen and learn.

I too try to corroborate via several sources but frequently find the sources are at odds with one another making it impossible or extremely difficult at best to do so. It seems that most sources both left and right rely on someone's opinion to make a case rather that provide verifiable facts. I'm curious what misleading comment Brian Kemp made you are referring to. I read what he said but can't discern what specifically was misleading.

I've started keeping "hot topic" reads in a new feature of Chrome browser called "reading list." So I had that one right at hand

"He - Kemp - and others pointed out that Georgia offers v**ers 17 days of in-person early v****g, while Colorado has only 15 of those in-person days.

"So hypocritical," Kemp said. Sen. Tim Scott, a South Carolina Republican, posted a similar message on Twitter."

There's a major difference between the states, though: Colorado v**es by mail. Every registered v**er receives a b****t about 15 to 20 days before the e******n. And instead of waiting in line at a polling station, the vast majority simply drop the b****t in a mailbox or a secure dropbox.

According to information from the secretary of state, 99.3% of Colorado primary v**ers used one of those methods last year."

If Biden's "failings" include the current situation at the border, that is another example of an extremely complex issue distilled to a few hysterical headlines and voices. Our country's problems related to i*****l i*********n did not end with Trump's wall and they didn't begin with Biden's E.O.

If we never get past blaming the party in power for these highly complex issues, they will never be solved.

Imagine how bad it would be without the tremendous v*****e effort of Biden
Or
The strong encouragement of masking and distancing by Biden.

While it's a breath of c***d-free air to have a president who believes in science, I wonder about the value of the mask-wearing advice at this point in time..

If people didn't get it from March 2020 through January 2021, seems like a couple of months don't matter in that particular regard. Remember the first conversations here about wearing masks: Trumpeteers suggesting we were being fearful?? Nothing about showing consideration or care about our friends and relatives, or getting through the worst of it as quickly as possible so everything could re-open. Americans, and many other countries' citizens, have shown just how spoiled and selfish we can be.

Now, the v******tion programs and support that have come about since January 20? YES!!!!!

Thanks. Colorado's in person v****g opened on October 19th, 15 days before the November 3rd e******n day. What is misleading about that?

I have not read any definitive reports that state v******ted people can not contract the v***s and asymptomatically pass it on to others. That combined with the proliferation of variants makes me belief masking is a still the wise choice—- especially with So many truly ignorant people that ignore protocols such as masking and distancing.

As is we are still running around 60,000 new cases per day and nearly 400 deaths per day . AND warmer weather is here people are getting out and about and we have several states that have fully opened.

Not time to drop the guard yet in my opinion.

I agree 100%. My point was that the people who believe as you and I do did not just decide to go this way in the past couple of months. Their choices (and ours) were made a year ago.

I'll take your comment/question as sincere, though it's difficult to understand how you don't see the problem.

It is a false equivalency. More than 99% of Colorado's v**ers v**e by mail. That means there are are only a few who v**e in person. Did you read that part of my quote?

So comparing 15 days to 17 days is meaningless. Kemp called that fact ""hypocritical." Now tell me about Georgia's long lines and how many v**ed in person (use 2016, if you prefer).

There are many false equivalencies put forth by conservatives. How about, "If you are for gun control, you are against individual freedom." Plenty more where that came from

My comment was most definitely sincere and you are right, I see no problem other than the one you made. Let's dissect that. You claimed the comment Brian Kemp made when comparing Colorado v****g laws to Georgia's when MLB moved their All-Star game was highly misleading. Kemp said that CO has 15 days of in person v****g and that's exactly what it was. How is this factual statement misleading?? The fact that few Coloradoans v**e in person is irrelevant as it relates to the statement Kemp made regarding the number of days they can v**e in person if they choose to. BTW, I am a long time Life Member of the NRA so you know where any discussion about your false equivalency example re: gun control would go.

Perhaps you noticed that 4 of the 5 states reporting an uptick in numbers were under democrat control. No you don’t know - and they are not illegal. That alone cast doubt on your entire post.

What? Illegal entry is the act of foreign nationals arriving in or crossing the borders into a country in violation of its i*********n l*w. If the folks entering our country anywhere other than a designated border entry point where they can present the required documentation for entry fail to do so they are entering the country illegally.

OK, sorry to bring up the other hot topic (guns).

How is the fact is that 99% of Colorado v**es by mail irrelevant? Wouldn't a reasonable person assume that 15 vs. 17 is of little to no importance to the overwhelming majority of CO's v**ers?

btw, there are other examples in the link I provided that explain why the "hypocritical" label is nonsense.
