In pre-dawn's early dim light from a rising crescent moon, while walking on the Columbia River shore as it flows past PDX, I thought I saw a raptor rising from the dirt dike grass with a snake. I was excited. Followed it to its nesting box on a river channel marker tower. Glassed it as it landed only to discover the snake had turned into a stick. Trip after trip the pair swooped down and snatched huge branches off the exposed river sand--grabbed them like snaring a fish. I think I'll go back tomorrow when I can stay longer into the sunrise and get some good photos. Was fun watching a site I've never witnessed--although I have many good Osprey with fish pics.
Fantastic captures. Hopefully you'll get more shots.
Neat shots. I love the first with the moon.
I like these. The stick is good but the moon shot is a very cool combo!
