maybe the sky's too dark?

Hello

I just took this picture as spring is starting to spring....

This is a sky replacement. The original sky was pure blue.

I think the upper part of the sky was too dark, but trying to lighten it just wasn't working, I may not have been giving it enough time to change.

But overall I like the picture. Just wondering what others think. Especially if the sky could have been better.

The picture actually looks darker over all, much darker, than it does on Photoshop after touching it up.

I think I will put a monochrome version out here too, for contrast.

I am redoing this as the download option didn't work in the color copy.

The darkness mostly just looks stormy to me, which is fine. To me, the larger challenges are how the sky changes between the branches of the tree (loss of clouds, color shift, etc.) and the incongruity between the directions of the light (low and 90 degrees left in the original, straight ahead or slightly right on the replaced sky).

Yes, I think you are right. Sky replacement has a lot of things to be worked out, although it works really well on pictures that have a lot of sky with few interruptions from tree limbs and such.

In time I will try some other sky replacements with this picture and others. I have a lot of skies beyond what is available from Adobe.

I think this is well done. I don’t see anything wrong with it except that you could have got rained on pretty easily! Definitely looks like a stormy sky.
