Beautiful flower shots. The red and yellow look like velvet. I can feel the texture in the images. The white (#3) is very interesting. Great definition.

Sorry to say these are not from my garden. These are from one of my favorite hang outs, Debary Nursery! They very graciously allow me to shoot to my hearts content.

These are fine advertising for them.

Beautiful floral portraits, Carol. I like the exposure and the angle. The first four would make a very nice framed set to give the nursery. You may have to come up with an artistic watermark for well deserved credit

A beautiful set. Love flower pix, my thing as well. That is great they let you photograph their stock. I sometimes would go to a nursery, Mount Fuji in Upland, CA to photograph their plants and flowers. Only problem it was usually windy there and harder to get a good image than indoors at home. My favorite places were the Arboretum in Arcadia, CA and Huntington Botanical Gardens in San Marino, CA. Both less windy and have indoor orchid houses! Now that I've moved I have to find new places for flowers. I might have to buy flowers and bring them home to shoot.

Thank you for the positive comments. The wind is frequently a problem for me, too. We don't have an arboretum in the area that I know of but there is an orchid grower in Deland. They allow photographers, too. Only problem is that it get really hot in their greenhouses. I also frequently have good results from shooting in garden centers such as at Lowe's or Home Depot. I'm discrete but they don't seem to mind.

Wow Carol! No wonder you like to hang out at the nursery and it’s easy to understand why they enjoy having you photographing their flowers...I think that’s called a “Win Win”! I like em all...thanks for sharing

Thank you, Steve. I post on Facebook, too, and I always give them credit. It is definitely a win for me. I just can't bring them all home. I have more gardening than I can keep up with now.

Thank you, Bob. I don't want to bore everyone with too many flowers but I love them and love shooting them/

Wow those are some great shots! Here in Central Florida we get a lot of floral shots. And I really like what you did with yours.

Thank you. We truly are fortunate to have access to flowers all year round. This time of year they are almost overwhelming, but that's fine with me.

A lovely and colorful set Carol. I look forward to springtime each and every year. I do have one question for you that I hope you won't mind answering. When I download your images here on UHH I get a smaller image than the original thumbnail when my expectation is to get a larger more detailed version. Is that your intent? If so, how come?

Thank you. I don't understand the download issue. I just downloaded the first shot and checked. It is 8.80 MB but this was a sizeable crop. Usually my files are much larger than that but I downsize them to 15 mb or less to meet the posting requirements. Are you actually downloading and saving. If you just click on the image rather than the download link, you just get the thumbnail on a black background.

I just went back and downloaded the thumbnail and it is only 62.7 KB. Also, there's a link to my Flickr account in my signature. Those are all the full size files.

Thank you, Ellen. I really love the texture that can be seen on some flower petals. It does make them look like velvet.

The issue must be on my end. On my laptop they were small in download. On my desktop they are seen in all their glory. Thanks for getting back to me Carol.
