You can bring it. You can't help anyone else out with it. Hasn't e******neering always been illegal at polling places?

Live with it Thom, it is done. Hope that MLB, Delta, Coca-Cola, and others suffer for the politicization of their corps.

Just who are you alleging would switch their v**e for a bottle of water?

Who would switch their v**e 10 feet outside the poll door because they see a sign for a candidate?

If no one would, why are signs and political statements disallowed 150 feet from the poll.

I see candidate reps in the parking lot on e******n day, more than 150 feet away...they want to talk and sell their candidate.

I just laugh and tell them it is way, way too late for a campaign speech.

Some people though might be swayed...some might sell their v**e for a candy bar...prolly not many but I don't know.

I think it is just a safeguard against the perception of undue influence.

How would you feel if the tea party, the GOP, and MAGA hat sporting folks were handing out hot dogs and beverages just outside the polls? Who would sell their v**e for a hot dog and a Coke...some might.

Actually, I don't see a big issue here...but then I have never seen political groups handing out water or food at the polls.

I am tired of your nonsense, the bottle of water is an excuse to approach and then do a little e******neering. If handing out food and drinks were allowed the politicians would flood the polls with concerned operatives doing a little e******neering. Can you Imagine the size of the security force necessary to insure compliance with the e******neering laws if the restrictions were not in place. The simple solution is to be prepared with your own water and your own Happy Meal.

I think e******neering can make quite a difference in the primaries when people normally come out to choose who they want for president but haven't given much thought to other races in their party. As someone who works polling places for down-b****t candidates, I can tell you that many people don't research these positions. E******neering during the general is about useless. Occasionally someone wants a party card, but since they started allowing party affiliation on the b****t, not so much. The really interesting races on e******n day are the school board and city council seats. That stuff is cutthroat.

At any rate, for the most part on e******n day, I shoot the breeze with the political opposition and answer questions from maybe 5% of v**ers about why my Republican is better than the other Republican. I'm posted at one of the hottest republican polls in a fairly democratic district so we see quite a few state candidates swing by throughout the day. It's fun to watch the democratic process in progress. I can tell you that 90% of the posters in the attic could not handle being that civil for that long, standing next to people with differing opinions. You guys are wrapped too tight.

Funny Story: In 2020, the primary e******n was held on March 3. It was chilly in the morning and it was raining cats and dogs. Everyone was huddled under umbrellas, drinking coffee, and trying to stay warm. After about 7:30 AM no one is v****g, so we're talking about everything other than politics. About this time, a kid drives up and starts unpacking all this Bernie Sander's gear; signs pamphlets, etc. He has maybe 50 lbs of the stuff. He's driven up between squalls and the weather is temporarily clear. He walks up to us and he's immediately talking up Bernie and his wonderful policies. We kind of ignore him. After a few minutes the sky opens up again and he heads back to his car and sits there out of the rain because he doesn't have an umbrella. After about 10 more minutes he drives away. We never see him for the rest of the day. Bernie got all the support he deserved that day.
