I'm hearing good reviews from drone pilots using this model. Any real life, personal recommendations or suggestions from members?

If you list all the sections from the first page, click All Sections at the bottom of this page, there's also a relatively new subsection for Drone Photography. You might also <Subscribe> there from this link: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-124-1.html

I bought my grandson this drone for Christmas - it's a step up from my DJI Phantom 3 Advanced

Example video - make sure you get the "fly more" option

I have had one for a few weeks. This is easy to fly and I find it interesting to photograph from a new perspective and enjoy the video from it. You do need to be careful and aware of where the drone is relative to other objects....it is more difficult than you might think. I also encourage purchase of the fly more combo for the extra batteries, propellers, etc. seriously consider DJI’s replacement insurance.

It was my grandson's first attempt at flying his new drone - I'm sure he'll improve

Got one for Christmas. Relatively easy to fly as it has multiple safety, obstruction avoidance and automated return to home features. The camera resolution is fantastic. Don’t use the video capabilities very much as I’m a picture vs video guy ... but the automated video flights programs in it are very nice.

Depends on what you want to photograph. I have DJI Phantom 4 Pro and the S1000. The aerial pic is of a housing development being built and is several shots pieced together and was shot with the 4, with the S1000 I shoot people from a long distance away. I hang my D850 or D5 with 70 to 200 lens. Be careful and if you have no RC experience please check in with your local hobby shop. Been flying RC over 40years and seen several bad accident. One was a young boy who lost an eye. They are easy to fly till you get into trouble.

I bought the fly more combo (highly recommend) from Adorama back in November when it first came out. I have found it very easy and versatile. There are a number of beginner You Tube videos that are very good regarding setting up the app and recommended accessories. A plug for Adorama. About 30 days after I made the purchase Adorama offered a package with some additional accessories (landing pad, SD card, etc) at the same price. I called and they promptly sent me the additional accessories at no cost (not even shipping!).

Recently purchased the DJI Mini 2 (the full package). It is quite something: 4K video and shoots both jpeg and raw stills. Cannot recommend it highly enough: it's the full deal and perfect for those who want to start droning!! Cheaper than my cameras and lenses too!! IQ for both video and still imaging is impressive.

Just don't fall for the insurance! I don't think they are governed by our Insurance Boards. I looked at the reviews and learned a lot. I had already purchased it. They don't cover much of anything. They sell, but do not produce.

I do not see drone insurance good for any of my drones. They shout real LOUD to purchase but do not leave much room for flight error.
