Hello,
I had yesterday the chance to visit an old water mill in Grimbergen(my wife & I were in the waiting list, and we got lucky; someone cancelled).
This is a mill originally from the XIV century, but it was displaced to the actual position in the XVIII century. Originally owned by a Lord (Lire), he sold it in the XIV century to the abbey of Grimbergen (needed $$ for the war).
Luckily, it has been preserved with the wood mechanisms. It consists of 2 separate presses: one for bread flour, and one for animal dedicated flour (it's coarser).
The originality of this mill is that the mechanism comes from below, and not from above, as it is normal.
Still getting used to my new Nikon Z7ii.
Regards,
Miquel

Thank you very much.
Forgot to say in the post: this is inn Belgium.

Miquel
Beautiful set, Miquel! BTW I hope you tried the wonderful double dark ale the monks brew.
Thanks!
Unfortunately, the abbey is closed for visit (Covid). We were lucky to be able to visit the mill. Tried it in the past, though, as I live quite close to Grimbergen (in Belgium, everything is quite "close to"), so when the restrictions are out...
Regards,
Miquel
