If your camera is a 3 to 4 ratio you have to eliminate some to have a square. Or have a white section on a square paper.

If the print maker does not offer 12 x 12, then another paper size might be available and be used for your 12 x 12. Like paper 12 x 18. You can always print a 12 x 12 image of paper larger than 12 x12. Then cut it if needed.

The key is ban your lab do this without stretching your 12 x 12 to a2 x 18? Just ask the lab.

I use Aspen Creek Photo. They do not offer 12 x 12, but do offer 12 x18. I would email them or call them to see if what I described about would work.

Their sister company, Metal and Paper does offer 12 x 12.

I want to order a print of one of my images. I've never done that before. The image is square, as you can see. I've looked at several on-line photo printing sites, but they either don't print square images without cropping them, or not at 12" x 12", or not any size square.

Will the a 12" x 12" print made from the attached image look pretty much like it does on a monitor? In other words, does it have the image specifications necessary to make a good 12" x 12" print?

Any ideas whether I should ask for canvas, glossy, or matte?

Suggestions of where I can have that done?

I guess I need help adding my photo. I can't seem to get it done.

Printique will do this. They will print the full image. Select a papers size with 12" width and print the full image.
Printique offers 12 x12 prints.

Problem solved.

The finish is your choice. I generally prefer Luster. Glossy gives deep blacks and the best detail. Luster is almost as good. Textures reduce detail. Matte is OK but blacks are not as deep as Luster or Glossy. The choice depends on subject.

It looks like you received plenty of solutions. But I don't get why you were asking what and not just where to begin with? How did you get a 12x12 or 1:1 ratio image that you did not want cropped from the 2:3 or 3:4 that your camera would have shot. You either cropped it already or you have a image from a film camera like a Rolleiflex or Hasselblad that is 6x6cm. Or some other vintage old school source.

I just had a 12x12" Framed Canvas Print made from a JPEG image, of a favorite location in Petoskey Michigan, and it turned out Fantastic, in my personal opinion, and I am going to get two other Jpeg images
Printed the same, and make a Collodge on a Wall in my Condominium.

Really? Have you not noticed you image is a rectangle? Cropping, or adding white space is a physical requirement to suit your purpose. Its unavoidable.

If you have a printer that will do 13x19 (e.g., Canon Pro 10 or 100) the print your 12x12 on the 13x19 sheet and cut off the unprinted areas.

Spend a little time to understand the ratios in printing.

I needed a 14 X 16 color print in a hurry one day for a Photoshop job and went to a Walgreens and it was a surprisingly good print. Same machine as Walmart.............
Not all Walgreens in my area have the larger size prints but all do prints.

Yes, I too have used Walgreens Photo Printing Service, hear in Lake Orion, Michigan, I was quite satisfied, I also have used Mpix and Shutterfly in the past. My latest Photo Printing was with a12x12" Canvas Print from "EasyCanvasPrints", very pleased with the final Photo, good quality work.
If I recall correctly, I went thru Walgreens Photo, and "EasyCanvasPrints" is who they had do my 12x12" Canvas Print.
