A white pelican comes in for a splashdown. Yes, the photo has technical issues but I thought it was a fun pose. 450mm handheld, 1/2000, f9, ISO 400.
It is a good composition despite the technical flaws.
This is one of those point and shoot moments. It
makes you smile.
He looks as if he is really paying att. to the wind.Like the shot.

Nevertheless, still awesome⭐ Poor little wings supporting a lot of bird-beef🎈🤔😒😜
Ilove the backlit Webbed-Feet.......lots of fun with this one.
Good catch, Skip! Great use of the light.
Thanks for all the kind comments. I wish it were not such a grab shot but sometimes that’s all you get. This was handheld at 450mm and literally a “see, point, and shoot” situation. Topaz Sharpen helped get it to a somewhat usable level of sharpness and it is very heavily cropped. Ironically, I had spent an hour just down the road with the camera on a gimbal/tripod rig but the pelicans wouldn’t cooperate. I moved and was about to set up when this guy appeared. I’ll be going back to the lake to try for more soon, I hope!
