I am out and about alot but don't always have my camera so has anyone tried a monocular for their phone and what did you think? Not looking for "award-winning" shot but I have enough wildlife/bird shots I would like to grab.

Using those camera tele lens attachments generally produce better results than extreme cropping.

I've just ordered one (was persuaded to buy 2). I'll let you know when it (they) arrive.

BEWARE, that on YouTube there are major scams with lies and false videos selling a monocular for around $69. They show zoomed footage, thought they sell a fixed zoom product. They mention built for military, show footage from a Nikon P900 and there are other YouTube videos exposing all the other parts of the false advertising. I hope you find a legit product.

I ordered one , but keep getting delayed delivery messages. The sellers are also wanting my opinion on how good I think their service is. Have not really experienced their 'Service' yet.. Just how long can I keep my fingers crossed?, makes typing difficult . I've only got one good eye, so binoculars are overkill.

I've tried several versions and they have all been unsatisfactory. The optics were usually not good. They are very difficult to get lined up with your phone lens and once achieved, very difficult to maintain. Finally, because of the inherent imbalance, it was very difficult to get them focused on the target; a tripod was absolutely required.

From my initial experiments with a spotting scope I’m thinkin’ that any monocular with enough mag for decent bird shots is going to demand use of a solid, heavy tripod and and a rock-solid adapter connection between your mobile phone and the monocular.

If I ever get one, it will be for using like one-eyed Binoculars.
