My nephew and I went on our fall camping/fishing expedition into the wilderness of the near north. We both brought our cameras because his parents had just been out and told us the fall colours were terrific. Well most of our drive was in the dark so we didn't see much going in. Where we ended up the main growth was coniferous trees so not a lot of colour there. We also had some expectations of getting some October moon shots, that didn't happen due to persistant cloud cover.
However all was not lost. We were treated to beautiful colours of a different kind. Many rainbows showed and even a double bow at on point.

The first rainbow

Another showed shortly after the first.

Then a fantastic double Rainbow

I liked the way this one reflected on the water

How pretty that is.
I've only seen one double, in my life time.

Very nice shots, sounds like you had a good time, in spite of the weather. Well worth the trip from the looks of your photos.

Great shots. ROY G BIV would be proud. (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo & vilot for those of you who have not met Mr. Biv)

I cannot recall seeing a double prior to this one. I hope that it's a good omen. Thanks for looking colo43.

Thanks for the kind words. I've no idea who ROY G BIV is but the colours do show well. (I saw it just as I typed it, very smooth.)

Rainbows are hard to capture photographically. Well done.
