Waiting for the migrant return! But lots of interesting birds in the meantime. All shot with Sony RX10 IV, handheld. The heron/mouse pics are hindered by the bush, but you get the idea. It wasnβt a good time for the rodent! Note the different colors of the male house finch, most males show red feathering, some are more orange β and some yellow. House Finches get their coloration from pigments in the plant foods they eat, and differing amounts of carotenoids. I think the females prefer the red!
Very fine set - possibly the best Towhee shot I've seen.

You know, I really got lucky....he wasnβt on the ground but in a shady Glen, and had one shaft of sunlight on him, AND he stayed out while I crept closer! Heβs a beauty! Thank you so much, quixdraw, for your comment.
