The original intent was to introduce Murphy The Ghost Dog to those who have not met him yet. Murphy arrived at my door one dark and stormy night. I invited him in of course, I couldn't send a dog back out on a night like this. He was soaked to the skin and smelled like a wet wool blanket. As I was about to go get a towel he flashed out of existence reappearing almost immediately in my chair dry and fluffy. Where he had stood there was only a puddle of water. He moved in that night and he has been with us ever since.

Let me briefly describe the equipment and procedures that allowed me to capture this attached shot.

I started with a basic Nikon F. I got the lens in 1962 from Insubstantial Photo in Body, California. It is a Super-natural 50mm f0.09 Spectral. The shop went out of business when the state took over and changed the ghost town to a tourist trap. Special filters are required based on the subject and can be stacked. These, along with a scroll with instructions on their use, I found in my bedroom one morning with a note reading 'You'll need these if you are going to take MY picture (signed) Jack. The special CH3CH2OH film is supplied by somebody (something?) I have never seen. Four 36 exposure rolls in exchange for one liter of Everclear. Same for the processing, I leave the film in a special hollow tree with the Everclear and the processed negatives appear in my bedroom. I can tell when they are coming because Murphy goes spectral and disappears for an hour or so.

Insubstantial Photo went straight, was bought out by Abe's of Maine and now has their exclusive market for gray equipment in the EU.

Six layers processed individually and globally. Darkened selectively with Fog Brush in PS

I had missed the origins of Murphy the Ghost Dog! This is an incredible story and I know it is all true because I am reading it on the internet! I love the work of your special camera. It is certainly easier than you having to create the image!! It is a blessing that Murphy became part of your family.😊👍

(My favorite part might be the eyes on the tree limb.)

Thanks Carol. The eyes came from a friendly werewolf I know. Just remember, when you go out on a dark and foggy night or when the moon is full and just rising above the mountain tops that some things on the internet are true.

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Jack, I have missed seeing Murphy. Your generosity to invite him in on that fateful night has changed your life forever. I might add for the better. Because of your generosity he has rewarded you with not only protecting you, but opening you up to things most of us can only imagine. I must say I am a bit jealous. We have a cat, the only thing she does is want our undivided attention when she is either not eating or sleeping.,oh how I envy you. Wow you are just one lucky guy.

Thanks Frank. Murphy fulfills all my needs. He makes me walk everyday which is at least part of the reason I'm still mobile at 77. All he expects from me is a warm, dry place to live, one meal plus snacks a day, to cover his "6" when we are out exploring and about 90% of my waking time, Yes of course he sleeps on my bed
