Making a list from Lightroom Classic - is it possible?

I use LR Classic and was wondering if there is any way to generate a report of sorts, where the columns would include a thumbnail image, the file name, the image title, date taken, etc.

Scouring all the menus I find nothing remotely like this...and I seem t recall when I used Aperture years back it was capable of doing this.

Any help appreciated!

I've yet to find what would be a very useful tool / capability.

Oh, by the bye - I know about the Print mode and have played with that, but it seems there is no way to have a second bit of "photo info" included, so I can either have the filename or the title but not both as far as I can tell...

Again, TIA to anyone who has ideas on this.

Without a program to do this easily in Windows, I would start with these resources:

1 - Create Excel list of files with photo settings
https://devblogs.microsoft.com/scripting/use-powershell-to-find-metadata-from-photograph-files/

2 - Import thumbnail images from filepath in Excel
https://www.extendoffice.com/documents/excel/5046-excel-display-image-from-file-path.html

Good luck!

Thanks for the thought, but that's not what I'm asking about. I would like to export or create a list directly out of LR without going through a lot of rigamarole - I know how to handle data in that manner. The "Print" module of LR allows for the creation of various outputs, but seems limited to only one piece of data to be associated with the image. I recall that Aperture had a list view - that's the kind of thing I would like to get ad hoc for whatever group of images I have selected.

Again, thank you but not what I am looking for.

No problem, Bob. I’ll keep this as a watched post as I’d like to know, too.

If it could do that, it would be wonderful! I've tried all the database programs I have trying to do just that. None of them truly work. How wonderful it would be to simply click a button and have a program do it!

Right? And it can't be all that difficult to code into the print options if nothing else...rather than variations on grid views and tryptichs a simple list (with one column for the images) should be straightforard enough. I'm surprised nobody's brought it up before.

f8Lee - Have you asked Adobe if there is any way to do what you want/need? It sounds a really useful tool!

I wonder if there's a third-party Lightroom Plugin that does that?

Well, I posted to both the Adobe forums as well as Lightroom Queen - I'll report here if someone has an answer. It just seems like a pretty obviously useful function...

...and a solution has been found, folks!

Members on both foums I mentioned told me of a plug in utility called Listview - I purchased it (about $17 - 1 Euros so whatever that translates to) and it does the trick! Here's the URL

That is so exciting. It's 15 Euros, and that translates to $17.72 in US$.

Right?

But be warned, I have hit a few snags - wrote a couple of emails to the developer. Notably, it doesn't want to cooperate in terms of being able to export a CSV or Excel file, and there are a couple of confusing UI issues. Also, when I ran it against 800+ images at once it seemed to get a bit confused; showing the wrong data with different images. But when I make a list from 50 or so images, there is no issue.

I am not disappointed - for the 17 bucks it certainly fills a need that Adobe has overlooked.
