"oll korrect" is a Dutch phrase meaning "all right" and Marten Van Buren was of Dutch ethnicity. So his nickname of "Old Kinderhook" shortened to OK fit right in during the presidential campaign of 1840.
Linguists say that "OK" is the single most widely used and recognized phrase in the entire world.
"K" my nephew uses "K" instead of ok.
Interesting, thanks for sharing.
So, Samantha, what about "p.u.?"
Who says History can't be fun????
And, FU does NOT stand for what you dirty minded people think. It's for "follow up". I used it on a term paper many many years ago and got an "F" because the professor didn't believe me.
By the way pee yew came from puteo, which is Latin for "to stink."
