This made me smile because I have a Long-Haired Silver Shaded Persian Cat that loves to lay on her back with hers paws like that right in front of the stove whenever I'm cooking or making a sandwich on the counter next to the stove. I always have to look and see where she's at before I move. I've been trying to get a picture of her doing this, but she always hears me when I pick the camera up, and then turns over real quick so that the flash doesn't bother her.

Thanks - it is odd - I have long been convinced that some animals will pose and enjoy even photo attention, others will either run away or run to the camera, either of which spoils the photo op. If you have a remote, you might set up ahead of time, then later get the shot. An interesting challenge. Whenever I'm cooking I have nearly 300 pounds of Dog rug around me!

I don't have a remote but I've been thinking about setting up my tripod so that all I would had to do was push the shutter button real quick before she realized what I was doing. Maybe I should turn the ISO up and turn the flash off. I've got a D750 that is pretty good with low light. I will work on that this evening and see if I can get a decent picture to post.

I have a remote for my D750 - handy, fun, and inexpensive.

There are even cheaper knock offs. You will find uses for a remote if you take the plunge!
I use the D750 in normal home lighting all the time - rarely need the flash.

When you get it, you need to enable it in the Photo Shooting menu, and then set how long you want it to stay in operation in the Custom Settings Menu / Timers and AE Lock / Remote ON Duration.

Thank you for these tips and info. Saved me a lot of work and worry about not doing things the right way. I still have an awful lot to learn about this camera. Bought it a year or so after I lost my Wife to cancer so I would have more to do than just sit in the recliner wondering what happened to my world. I'm in a physical rehab program now because I'm having a big problem with my legs and walking. When walking both of my hamstring muscles in my legs feel like someone is sticking a knife in them. Only time they don't hurt is when I'm in the recliner with both legs raised a little. I know when I lost my wife I lost interest in a lot and kind of let my health go. I bought a pair of Copper-fit Knee Sleeves. They are really tight on your legs, but they do help with the pain. I'm worried about wearing them too much and getting really dependent on them. Guess this is what you call learning the hard way. Now that spring is here I want to get outside again and get mobile, so I'm working on it.
