Wire Pass Day Hike

Who's been on Wire Pass hike in Utah?

Want to go with my wife in early June. Site says its 3+ miles round trip. There's lots of detail on the hike thru the slot canyon and even an alternative way to enter, but nothing on how to get back to the trailhead after entering Buckskin Gulch at the end of the slot.

Can anyone give me some info on how to get back to the car/trailhead once thru the canyon please.

Early on there is an 8 foot drop that is fairly dangerous, (thus the detour) but no way will I be able to scramble up that drop if we have to retreat back the way we came.

Thanks everyone.....

jayluber, thanks for posting this. I will be in this area soon and this looks like a fun place to stop for a hike.

I need to add to my post. All trails shows out and back. I use a Garmin 64st when hiking in this area in 2018. I can download maps to the device. I also use gala gps for added info. But it has been a while since we have been to Utah. With the Europe and New England shut down we are considering heading back.
There is a lot of nice hiking around Kanab. Cottenwood trail is also nice.

Thanks guys - but everything I see gives great detail on the trip in, then just say: Now its time to head back.
Does anyone know if its overland or back thru the slot? My wife is very concerned.

Per google maps the trail head is at 37.02230, -112.02509 on a unpaved road off of Highway 89 between Kanab and Big water. You are walking east through a slot canyon and turn around at Buckskin Gulch and and retrace your steps. It is hard to get lost. Remember that walking in a slot canyon and rain equals a bad day. Accurate weather says it rains one day in June; it should not be a problem
