Reflections in a Flat Surface Still Pond Versus Reflections in a Pond with Wind Rippling the Surface.
As a result of all the the good information I got on UHH Forum regarding reflections recently, I loaded my gear and drove to Botanica Gardens in Wichita, Kansas early this morning to photograph their male Shoveller Duck as he put on a show for me. In the first image he is swimming in poor lighting and into the ripples on the surface of the pond caused by wind and his reflection is "TERRIBLE." In the the second picture he is swimming into the sun with great lighting and the surface of the pond is flat since the wind died down and his reflection is "MAGNIFICO!" This proves their are a bunch of geniuses on UHH Photography Forum that were willing to share their photographic knowledge with me. Muchas Gracious!
It is rewarding when you are able to pick up a good tip and get results like this. Well done!
Nice when it all comes together. That's a Mallard, though, not a Shoveler.

Dear kpmac...Thank you for correcting me on the type of duck in my images. I guess I have Shoverlers on the brain after photographing them last Tuesday.

Nice, and easy on the eyes...
I was told that this is a Mallard Duck instead of a Shoveller. My bad. (I guess I had Shoveller on my mind from taking photos of them earlier in the week.)
