This is clearly a juvenile but I can't be certain from the visible field marks whether it is a Cooper's or Sharp-shinned Hawk. These two species look so similar. Photo was taken in the southern Willamette Valley of Oregon.

At this age the size is helpful to determine which. Its very round head and more proportional eyes suggest to me that it a Sharkshinned Hawk

Great capture! I think it is a Sharp-shinned Hawk because of the eye size in relation to the head, rounded head and relativly short neck. Thanx for sharing.
