I grew up just a few miles from the Parker plant in Janesville. The Parker 51 is named because the plant is on US Highway 51. My mom worked there for a few years out of high school. I have a parker pen with me at all times. I use both the gel ball and fountain pens. Great instruments and sad to see them be bought out and leave Janesville.

There must be two people because James Kirkpatrick, former Missouri Secretary of State, was known for writing virtually everything with green ink.
