This is my preserved Green Lacewing which is a lovely and quite delicate little insect. The full bodied image is when I came across it last year so it has been preserved for quite some time now and although it has lost a bit of its color it is still holding up.
I staged the current first image with a reversed 28mm f/4 lens that I purchased on Ebay for $60 and mounted in on an old bellows that I extended out 20mm from the camera's sensor. One not need invest a large sum of money to produce magnified images. I placed a sample paint swatch behind the subject that I get for free at the local hardware store paint department where they have dozens and dozens to choose from.
The full body image below was taken last year with a Laowa 60mm f/2.8 1X-2X macro lens. Both images where taken with a little Fujifilm X-T20 APS-C sensor mirrorless camera so one need not invest in an expensive camera either to do magnified macro photography.
Full body image is excellent..

Thanks, UTMike. I like the way that it came out when it was a fresh specimen also.
Full body is wonderful Full screen is the only way to view this one.
The full-body picture is very colorful and beautiful. Seems it's full-body color is light green but in the first picture, it's showing yellow color. Beautiful long antenna and wings.
Beautiful work, as always. Thanks for sharing your method.
You really do a great job with your backgrounds - your subjects really stand out!
