Ask them is it a USA Sony warranty or Focus Warranty. If the answer is Focus warranty it is not legit.Welcome aboard.

There was one on here a few days back at a great price. Check the UHH classifieds.

They have a website and a street address, but that doesn't tell the whole story. So does Abe's of Maine.

The Sony A7III was released in 2018. Paying a 'new' full price for a camera this old is a shame. Keep in mind, Sony, like the other major camera retailers, sets the prices on their equipment. An authorized retailer selling equipment with US warranties all sell at the same price. Anyone selling 'new' equipment at a discount price will be grey market. The equipment is the same, built in the same factory, but not with a US warranty. Not having a warranty is much the same as buying a used camera, so consider the grey market discount against a used body discount. The camera is great. I have the older A7II that I shoot most every day. Never use new money to buy an old camera.

MPB is selling them (body only) in "like new" condition for USD 1679.00 with a 7-day return period and 6-month warranty. In my experience their "like new" merchandise is in perfect condition. But that's basically the same price B&H and Focus have for a new body! So I'm not sure buying used -- at least from a dealer -- makes sense in this case.

When you can buy a 24MP Sony A7II used for $800 or less, I don't see why anyone would buy nearly the same 24MP a7III for $1600. Granted, the a7III was the first to really deliver a 'silent mode', earning Rockwell's comment of "the world's best full-frame mirrorless camera ever created." If that feature along with improvements in battery life and higher ISOs are $800 more important for a 24MP full frame camera, that's for the OP to determine.

B&H is still selling them new for $1,698, so the 'used' option and limited warranty doesn't seem like the right move at all.

I live about a half a mile from them and would not go there. There are much better places online. They have a hint of dishonesty.

No need to figure if their 'claim' is real or not. Check out Sony's link for Authorized Dealers/Retailers..

https://www.sony.com/electronics/retailers

And as suggested, find out whose warranty is given with this camera.

Watch out for Focus Camera. Not a good reputation.

I have never regretted buying a camera from B&H or Adorama. Used stuff from KEH and MBP is great too.

You also might want to check Samys Camera, based in Cal. on their online store.
They have a good selection of pre-owned cameras and gear.
I bought a Canon 650D body from them for $80.00. It arrived in almost new condition with low shutter count, and without a scratch or mark anywhere on it. Even though I only bought the body, it came with a 50mm, f1.8 lens also.
Works fine without any problems.
