I like to process of shooting film but I can't do it myself anymore so I rarely do it now. If I do shoot film now and then it's only color slide film because when I sent slide film out for processed they are processed exactly the same way there is no adjustments to be made there.
I do not like the film look, in fact I never did.

A quick aside ...
I had gone to Bellingham, WA. on a bucket list event item. Grandkids wedding, too.
I dropped off a half dozen rolls of 120 film at a used-to-be respectable local shop.
"Private Equity" bought them, and had got rid of old people and the film processing.
Job farmed out, and 120 film then farmed out. I was told (after I got home)
that the chemicals were mixed up, and the rolls were processed in a tank for slide film.
ALL the negatives are red. NOT ready yet to fix this.

Proper lens, aperture patience and speed will give you a much more "3D" look.
Digital will appear almost like a photocopy of the real thing.
And film will be the real thing.
