Wonderful detail on these. I have never seen the detail on the top of the head which is really cool. All these are nice depictions. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much, Nalu. The head detail surprised me too.

Enjoyed your photos. And, thanks for reminding me that we often overlook photographic material because it is so prevalent.

Thank you very much, badapple.

Really nice work, John. With your hands and that 300mm, the image quality is amazing. You're starting to give me GAS.

Robins already, huh? Woke up yesterday to an inch of new snow on the ground here. Ground is still frozen, no worms for those guys yet.

Thank you very much, KT. Those were with the 300mm and the 1.4 teleconverter. That leaves enough room to crop for composition. I'm really satisfied with the lens. The most I've ever spent, but 20% of that for a FF equivalent.

Robins have been here for a few weeks, but surviving on seeds and peanuts. We need rain to bring the worms out.

I saw them in Michigan all of the time. Beautifully photographed.

Thank you very much, Jeff. We often have a few that spend the winter at their own peril. Haven't had rain in two weeks to bring the worms out so they are surviving on seeds and peanuts.

The ubiquitous American robin is the most wide-spread, North American songbird. The summer range is from Alaska's north-slope, over most of Canada and all of the lower forty-eight. The winter range extends to Mexico and Central America. It is the state bird of Michigan. It and the House sparrow are often ignored because they are so common, at least by me. I think I've posted only one Robin photo. Recommend DL and DDL on the third photo. Thanks for viewing - John

Very fine set, John. In the last one, it looks really like he just has visited a barber shop

Nice pictures!!! I love shooting wildlife with the camera and flying birds is a wonderful subject to capture. Taking pictures is easy nowadays with the new technologies, a digital camera or a smart phone can make it. But taking an image that speaks to the world is not an easy task. I have seen this kind of photography in your work, keep it up, and all the best.

Thank you very much, Tim. Was that the one of them having a disagreement at the bird bath?
