GREAT stuff. I’m unfamiliar with about half of these photographers.

We must also recognize their editors and the organizations behind them that amplified their visual voices.

I miss Life Magazine!

Absolutely! Doesn’t take away their skill, just helps support and gives them a platform to display it.

Nice! I recognized five of the names, and knew 3 of those by seeing the images.

Yeah, I know they are grateful to the editors and mentors who saw enough in their work to display it liberally. Annie Leibovitz is surely grateful for Jann Wenner of RollingStone. She created so many masterful covers and photo essays for RS that I subscribed for many years just to see her brilliant work (especially portraits of rock stars and celebrities).

Such a pathetic presentation by the person responsible. Exactly where and why was Julia Margret Cameron left out? When one explores the early history of photography Julia Margaret Cameron stands out as one of the seminal individuals in photography, especially in portraiture. So important is her work one has to wonder what is wrong with this presentation of women photographers. The more you read about Cameron's activities the more one is stunned by her achievements. With such a glaring omission I would say what is written must be read as having major flaws in both the presentation and the 'thinking' of the person presenting.

Cool! Cindy Sherman resembles Princess Diana. I watched a video of Vivian Meir from the library. Very interesting.

My friend and mentor in photography did printing for Bernice Abbott. He has loaned me a shot of the Flatiron building which is fantastic.
