I took a drive to find the elusive Sand Hill Cranes that migrate through central Washington this time of year. I've found them before but it is a hit or miss drive. This time it was a "hit" but there have also been past "misses". Last Wednesday I found several thousand doing what they do in a marshy area near Royal City. Some of them decided to fly around for me. The last two Sandhill Crane shots came very late in the day with darkness rapidly approaching. Also on on my drive I encountered the unusual sight of thousands of Snow Geese on the southern shore of Pothills Reservoir. I have never seen snow geese there before. Then they all took off for a brief few seconds. Finally, it was a gorgeous day with interesting clouds. The last two shots are really all about the clouds. I hope you enjoy these images. Feel free to let me know your thoughts. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for sharing. The forth and fifth images with warm cloud cover strikes my fancy. Great to see so many Sand Hill Cranes.
