Creating a Photo Background

I have been searching for several weeks and cannot locate the proper name of my topic, and am reduced to profess my ignorance. A few months ago I saw a youtube video about creating a background and imposing people over the enhanced background. With all the video meetings I seem to now be involved in, I want to create different backgrounds with my company logo for those video calls. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction for that youtube video I saw. Any help would be appreciated. I use Adobe Lightroom. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Craig

Its not clear what you are after. Do you want to change the background of a picture, since you do mentioned LR (?) With that one generally uses a selection tool to draw around a subject, and that is copied and pasted into a new layer. A layer below that would be a picture of the background that you want. The procedure for LR is explained in many videos in YouTube by searching: "Lightroom, change background". The two layers are then merged to be one layer, and you can export that picture to use it as a background in a video conference.
It was already mentioned how to generate a background in Zoom, and the effect is much improved if you use a green screen behind you.

This may seem very LOW-tech, however, a simple approach may address your purposes. If you want to use a variety of backgrounds, you will have to resort to GREEN-SCREEN technology whereby you can insert a variety of backgrounds derived from file images into live zoom meetings.

If you just need a simple environmental background creating an office-like atmosphere, just create a real simple SET. It's easy enough to create a graphic of your company logo, select a place in your home with a bookshelf, a fireplace, a wall with some art or decor of your choice, hang the logo and you are good to go. Keep the background simple and uncluttered- just a "suggestion" of the atmosphere is sufficient. Set up your lights to emphasize your face.

I've noticed, even on national TV, someof the virtual interviews are poorly set up. The light is bad- ring lights show up in eyeglasses and the wrong focal length is used so when folk lean into the camera there's distortion and very unflattering views of the face.

If you are a Zoom user for video conferencing, there is a Zoom feature to allow a green screen or any photo you desire in the background. I use it all the time and rotate photos to make things interesting.

You don't need a green screen anymore with Zoom. Just before you "Join with Video," you have a preview screen. In the upper righthand corner is where you click to add a photo (or video) as a background. Easy, peasy.
