No drama. Just a simple shot.

Respectfully, the pose and composition need work, IMHO.

I agree. First off, it's not a photo that I'd consider to be a nude or anything close to it. Secondly, there's too much empty space above your model and the lower half of your model is cut off. Third, the lighting is pretty harsh. It takes practice to be creative with lighting. I'd suggest reading about it and studying lighting. It's a subject all on it's own. This is more of what most of us would call a snap shot.

Agree. Far too much empty space/background. The near knee is too obtrusive. Lighting is very flat. But hey . . . it's a start! The more you experiment with light, pose, subject position, the easier and better it becomes.

Hi mackie, I would say everyone here has told you probably what you didn't want to hear, in a good constructive way.

What I want to say is: Good show!!! At least you are trying. (or are you.) LOL.

Your model looks completely comfortable with posing for you. Compositionally, I think she is too centered in the frame. Cropping some of the left side of the photograph would place her in a more favorable location within the frame.

Lots of advice here on composition which I won't repeat. Your sitter is a confident and beautiful woman with frank and open gaze.
Much more than a "simple shot", this is a defining portrait.

Maybe the 'tech' parts aren't fully there yet but what you nailed is capturing the aura. Your model exudes confidence. Here I am. This is me. I'm fine with who I am and need nothing from anyone else to be the best me. Congratulations on that.

Wish I had a decent camera when wife was pregnant. Got camera later and took pics of kids.
