What I've been doing...
Rainy and cold today, but yesterday was beautiful with mostly clear skies and a soft, cool breeze...probably around 70 degrees. I joined a group of birders at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley. We're approaching the spring migration of birds through SoCal so part of what we were watching for were early migrants. There were probably a few, though most of the following have been around for a while. I missed a few species...couldn't focus on them fast enough before they flew away. All were taken with a Nikon D500 using a Nikkor 200-500 telezoom, handheld. Settings ranged from 1/2000 to 1/4000 seconds, f/6.3 to f/7.1, ISO from 240 to 4000. All photos were processed in LR with Topaz Denoise AI and/or Topaz Sharpen AI. Hope you enjoy these.

Certainly a nice variety.
Wow. Very nice set. You had a good day!
Excellent set, jak, as usual! The hawk belongs on your wall.

Thanks, Mike. So good to hear from you. I agree that the hawk photo is special. I did have to adjust the brightness and shadows some, but I was pleased with the photo, right down to the expression on the hawk's face. Hope you are doing well and wish you a nice week. jak

Thank you, Bob. I felt very lucky to capture that and a number of other nice shots of the Red Tail. I frequently try to capture good shots of hawks circling on the air currents, and I got lucky with these that it was low enough and I used a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the action and capture some pretty sharp shots. Thanks for the kind words. Have a healthy, safe week. jak
