New Lens - not fully calibrated - and short on time so grabbed a bunch and hoped for the best. These guys absolutely did not want to sit still and in the shade under a tree so most shots were not usable - I adjusted contrast and balance and a touch of saturation to pull up a bit more color and detail.

Nice photos. I really like the effect of the shade combined with your depth of field.

"Still" - ducklings!!!! What universe have you been living in lately? Even asleep they twitch and peep as they dream.

You got some nice shots, good IQ and feather detail. I also like that last "different" looking duckling.

Nice shots.
What is the new lens and what calibrating? Is that normal with new lenses?

Lenses can be calibrated for focus if need be for the camera they are attached to. It takes a bit of effort and is not always needed. vz

Amazing that these ducklings are so unlike the adult Muscovy. Very cute - they would make excellent Easter/Spring greeting cards. The butterfly is well captured and rendered, as are the ducklings. Thanks for sharing.

I picked up a used Nikon 200-500mm - I'm fairly new to upper end cameras myself but it was recommended I calibrate the lens to the camera body - It does involve either buying a calibration pyramid - or printing and constructing your own - I have read some various articles and instructions and have watched a few videos. I just need to set aside some time to do it. My new (to me) camera is a d750 and has far more functionality it fine settings including memory settings for non- program or non fully compatible lenses
