In the meantime, I use IP Vanish on every computer/device and TV in the house. I don't see any realistic performance hits unless I'm downloading large files (Operating System ISOs).

You want something outside the jurisdiction of 'Five Eyes' and others, else they can legally be required to provide data, and they may already be sharing your data with other 'spy' agencies. I have used NordVPN for years... I think it's the best... do a search on it. This is no time to be patriotic... to work, you have to be far outside the reaches of the US government.

I use Tunnel Bear. It has been quick and reliable with very little lag. I use Malware Bytes as my anti-malware and it now offers one.

They would only be watching you if you had something to hide. Big brother is not nearly as much of a concern as your own ISP or other metadata collection services. Every application a person loads on a device (phone, tablet, computer, etc...) has the ability, AND DOES, collection information. Companies collect that data and either use it or sell it in bulk for "advertising".
