I would tone down the brightness of the grass and spot of water at the bottom of the photo.

Thanks, Jerry; the gamma and DR have both been of concern and are up for re-thinking!
Best regards, Dave

Hi, berchman, thanks for your comments. As I mentioned to Jerry, tonal assignments are a major concern and up for revision.
Many thanks?

Dave, I played around with it a bit, and reducing the contrast made it look muddy. In my opinion. If you can tone down the brightness, as was mentioned, in that location, I think you will have a superb photo. And yes, do enter it in the show. It’s a very nice landscape.

Can you provide us with what the entry requirements are for the show? Without knowing the boundaries it’s hard to provide feedback. Overall, it’s a nice landscape image, but I agree with Jerry’s assessment.

Thanks, Fstop, for commenting.

Requirements?
Submitter must be 14 years of age or older and the photographic images (unsigned), ready for hanging, must be 8”X10” or larger. $15 entry fee per submission.

This is an annual regional arts council show with entries from east-central SD and adjacent MN with typically from 90 to 125 submissions.

As I said, a really “open” show!

Thank you, Greg. Contrast management is of thoughtful concern.

Not much place for the eye to land on the subject. Too busy. Good tones though.

I guess everyone's eye is different. My eye goes to the tree leaning over the water on the left, then to the island, then to the sky, then to the land mass on the right.

I'm a little late to reply with a critique, however, I agree with Berchman, tone down the brightness of the grass, it's the same visual intensity as the sky, both are pulling for the viewers attention and (IMHO) the sky is more interesting, besides pulling the viewers eye towards the sky brings them into the image more.
Definitely submit this as an entry but beware, I have found from experience that judging art for shows is extremely subjective.
Good luck
