I sent a photo to canvas champ, it was a B&W 18×24 on my 19 inch monitor the pic was very sharp , I got my canvas back and it was out of focus or a little blurry , why? Could it be the company or just me? Thanks for any kind of explanation.

Guess I'm confused.
Doesn't a canvas substrate not lend itself well to image crispness??

I would check the size of the image that you sent to the company... and your export defaults.

That is what I am wondering.

One would not normally view it from a foot or two away either.

I just took this in response to the thread. Make your own determination.

The Epson canvas printed on an Epson P800 is 17" x 22" shot from around 6 feet w/z50

Yes, but the pic is sharp. Mine is out of focus.

I was trying to show you that canvas doesn't necessarily mean out of focus. Since everyone has their own idea of sharp, I left it to you to decide. The posted photo is straight out of the camera.

FYI I have had 2 of my favorite photos done on canvas and have not really liked either one. I just had 3 of my new favorite photos done on metal 2 by Bay Photo and 1 by American Frame. They are outrageously outstanding.

You need give yourself some space when viewing canvas prints. I have several in our home, two of which are 4' tall and 6' wide. They are great. I must say, that even 'close' they appear to be still sharp. So, on that note, I second amend the earlier post to check the size of the file you sent them.

But don't stop. You'll love canvas wrap prints. The image continuing along the sides makes them even more enjoyable.

Thanks, I was thinking of using Bay Photo for metal prints.

Thanks, I am not a big fan of canvas, I thought I would give it a try.

How big were the photos?

It should be sharp. I did a 30 X 45 canvas print from my Fuji X-T2 APS-C camera, and it was very sharp, even from 6 inches away.

You should talk to them about this, and get their opinion on possibly why it came out blurry.

I’ve had excellent results with BayPhoto and MPIX, for canvas prints.
