Costco Photo Books...

In cleaning out my work areas i ran into this series of "How To" books with instructional CDs on Photoshop that I got years ago at Costco. These all address much older versions of Photoshop and I have never gotten the program. So, now, my question is are any of these still applicable to the current program or are they just pretty magazines to look at? Do they still have any value or use if I were to sign-up for a Photoshop subscription.

A lot of the concepts remain the same. Looking at the topics on the cover they are the same as modern Photoshop. Don't look to it for an exact step by step, but to get an idea of what is possible. For example I see blending modes on the cover. Still relevant ideas but Photoshop has added a few blending modes over the years.

I cannot say with certainty, but many of the past procedures in Photoshop have been carried on through the updates of the program. There likely have been improvements and changes due to added tools, and even new procedures, but the basic concept would still be available, I think. For instance the possibility of compositing, masks, layers, may or may not be there but the basics would and should give you a good beginning of understanding the program and it's abilities. Depending on the age of the books and DVDs, they could improve the learning curve for you.

Any interest in selling the Costco photo books? I have the old standalone PS and LR disks?

I would say look at each magazine and see if any of the techniques interest you. If they worked back then they should still work now.
