9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

As some have interpreted Genesis there are three heavens note Genesis 1:6 Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters. And let it divide the waters from the waters.

So it stands to reason if there are waters from the waters when that first heaven was opened up and it rained for
40 days heavy torrential rain yes the entire earth could have flooded.
Also your finite mind our finite minds minds cannot comprehend the mind and power of a infinite

Your counter argument the plates have risen and fallen ok. But that still doesn’t discount the fact that the layers are still consistent world wide. I know there are more layers.
