Hi Folks

I recently sold my P7100 to a fellow and he says: 'when I take the picture (and hit the > button) it says 'no image')

It sounds like a set problem

And suggestions on a fix?

THX

Dave

Does he have a memory card in the camera?
I think my Canon can be set to capture without card.....
Don't understand why, but it can. Tethered work maybe?

I have a P7100, though this sounds like a generic problem with the SD card he is using...if any, or try another card. The camera can be set to fire even when there is no SD card. I would refer him to the owners manual.

Had you tested the camera before selling?

Hi Thank you (both for your comments) I sold the camera (cross country) to a young fellow. when he asked for advise I told him (see above comments that you did) - RE: Card. He had a very old card and he is buying a new one from Amazon.

What I was wondering: 'are there any setting on the the back (buttons) or set up menu --- that would disable viewing pics on the screen.

Dave

p.s. I shot with it the day I shipped it - all ok

If you mean to disable the display of the pic you just took after you fire the shutter, then yes.

Menu button/Set up (wrench icon)/Monitor settings/Image review/on or off.

If you want to disable the review function totally, I don't see any way to do that.

Did you restore to factory defaults before selling? He could buy a card cheap now, format in the camera and see if that fixes it.

Yes, he should try that with the card he has now. Possibly the card may need to be reformatted.

Recommend he restore to factory setting per the manual, format a new sd card, and ensure he has the latest firmware downloaded He sb good to go from there on

I'd do the least work first, format the card, since the camera worked fine when it left the sender.
I never understood "reloading" everything. Could be as simple as a setting in the camera.
I guess "Massive Master Reset" clears all without having to figure out what the actual problem was.
