Well that’s certainly a different looking structure. I know nothing about these. What purpose is it serving if any out there in that vastness?

I haven’t seen a new example of this very “light duty” style windmill in many years. To my limited observations they served for pumping water to stock tanks (for light duty in areas with high ground water) and I recall one used for pond water aeration.

This decrepit example is standing on a long-time pasture for stock grazing, so I suspect that at one time there had been a metal stock tank at its base waiting to be filled.
