I have never gotten a flu shot and believe I may have gotten the flu once in my life.

I got my first Covid shot (moderna) last week and my nurse definitely used a sharp needle. She wiped the area with an alcohol pad and when she did it again a few seconds later I asked, "did you give me the shot?". When she responded that she had I said, "nice touch, I never felt a thing." That was great because I really hate needles.

Scheduled for the 2nd shot March 17th. I hope it goes the same.

I once told a nurse taking a blood sample that I hated needles, and she said, « that’s good, because if you liked needles, I’d think there was something wrong with you. »

I get a flu shot (senior strength) at the beginning of every flu season, so yes, I got one last September. Had my first Moderna shot last week.

Took flu shot at doctors' office, first time there and was informed they have the senior flu shot. Did not know there was one. Had both Pfizer shots. First one no reaction at all, second one sore at injection site only for a day.National guard giving shots here, 83 years old and bladder held out for 2 1/2 hour auto parade to get the shots.

Will be getting my second shot on Wednesday at 3PM! First shot only resulted in a sore shoulder for a couple of days. The only problem I had with the shot experience was with the Band-Aid they used to cover the shot area, it was a cartoon character of Wile Coyote! Do not know if they did that on purpose or not? Maybe they were trying to tell you something.

I hope the Covid vaccine turns out to be more effective than the flu vaccine.

"Since health officials started tracking it in 2003, effectiveness has varied from year to year, ranging from a low of 10% in 2004-05 to a high of 60% in 2010-11.

With all the covid vaccinations going on, has anyone been offered or gotten a flu shot? Although I have never gotten one, every year it seems I was asked at least three times if I want one.

My first covid shot is scheduled for 9:00am Wednesday. The nurse promised she would find a sharp needle.

I am constantly reminded to get one, although I have not had one in many years. I seem to do just as least well as when I got them...perhaps better.

I have known that as well. Good health is a matter of life style...not medicine.

If you ever get the full blown type A flu (and I hope you don't), I guaranty you will never forget it.

Influenza is something to avoid. I had it in 1998 (I didn't get vaccinated) and I was praying for merciful death! Since then, I have never failed to get vaccinated every September.
