Petrified reptile...
Jean Lafitte National Historical Park...... is a bit of a yawn... providing you've seen already hundreds bald cypress, thousands of palmettos and a f/s ton of Spanish moss. Unless, that is, you stumble on a petrified 'gator... well, not petrified, exactly... petrification is the replacement of cell space with minerals as the cells decompose. In this instance, a cypress knee is forcebly replacing the space once occupied by a Parks Service board walk... I joined in with an act of whimsy by partial replacement of cypress knee with a spare 'gator eye... it was no trouble.
Yup, had fun! Thanks for looking Longshadow!!
I can't take much credit, kpmac, the shape was just too obvious... but it was fun to do and that's what really counts. THANKS!! for looking and commenting!
