I'm happy in SE Arizona. A few cold mornings, actually got to 27 degrees above 0 a couple of times this year but I don't worry about it because it always warms up before I get out of bed. There is a trade off though: Arizona has no ocean no bugs but it does have mountains. Florida has no mountains but does have an ocean and bugs.

The North may get winter storms, but Florida gets hit by some ferocious hurricanes at times. Also, you may not want to compare World Championships with New York, for instance.
