Poor Man's Way to Correct Insufficient Exposure Beyond the Range of Sony RX10M4 13.2X8.8mm Sensor.
By taking an image of a Starling facing directly into the sun at high noon with snow on the ground to act as my reflector, I was only able to get decent exposure on the top half of the bird at ISO 100;1/500 second shutter speed, F-8 aperature.
The lower half of the bird was so under exposed that I had to use Photoshop CS4 to dodge the lower part of the bird to bring out some of the Starling's detail. If you look carefully, you can see the light being reflected off the snow and up under the birds rear end in the edited version.
The detail of the birds eye was not captured so I had to borrow a brown eye from another image and put it on the Starling's face. The plastic cord on the hanging bird feeder went directly across the bird's face so I had to remove it using Photoshop CS4 clone stamp tool.
Perhaps I will ask Santa for a Sony Alpha1 camera and a 600 mm, F 2.8 lens next Christmas so that I can shoot full frame and do much less editing to get a decent image from the get go. Most likely he will say, NO!
Do you like the poor man's edited Starling image or is it too sterile?

IMHO, anyone who can make a photo better is always good and should not be sorry or ashamed of how it was done. Good ---> Better always
for me.
Goodluck with Santa. Last week i received news that there was no valentine for a lot of people because Cupid was in jail for possession of deadly weapons. As for old man jolly to children & visits them in the middle of the night with a gang of horned accomplices, he should be in jail soon too.

Dear Wallen...Thank you for your comment. I really enjoy making photographs better. Discovering Photoshop many years ago changed my life as a photographer for the better. Please stay safe and continue sharing on UHH.
