Meet the "Beast" - Nikon's 70-200mm f/2.8 Z lens! After a less than satisfying experience of shooting our belated Christmas program with the much slower 24-200 I finally broke down and got the 70-200 which will work so much better when shooting in the difficult lighting at our church along with other low light applications. It's heavy and long - 50 ounces and 8.9" long and the camera/lens weight is a tad over 5 pounds. But ... it's outstanding! Here are a few early shots using it.

Sue, the 70-200mm 2.8 is my dream lens... I use a 55-300mm 5.6 it is ok but my long shots are not as sharp as I would like... pg.1

Thank you...right now it is just a retreat...we are still working on the interior...We have solar, and a generator and 2 spring fed brooks, so we are off the grid...We cut down 7 giant poplar trees had a saw mill cut all the lumber for the cabin... My husband built it when he retired it is an on going project...

Wonderful!! Just a suggestion about your water supply - when we built our house the 300' well came up dry and so our contractor developed a nearby spring and dug a ditch directing it to two 1,000 gallon cisterns located in a spring house connected to our basement. When inquiring for directions he was told that they couldn't tell him how to do it for a residence but no problem if attached to a barn and used for livestock! Anyhow, that spring has been a reliable source of water for over 20 years and makes great coffee!!

It was a splurge to be sure but I'm really liking it. The other day I attached my 28-300 via the FTZ adapter to get more reach for birds at the feeder and found that it was way too soft at 300mm and I've made the decision to trade it in toward a 100-400 Z lens later this year when it becomes available.

There are some great riders at these events. I know that I would fall off for sure.

Thank you. A lot easier than trying to change the background in post.
