Great capture, I yet to have a good photo of one. They are flighty and like heavy cover making manual focus almost mandatory.

That's exactly right and to make matters more difficult, gray and black themselves, they favor thickets of dead, gray, branches that cause full-color photos to look black and white...
very cool,iv'e never seen one ,i live in new jersey,we get tufted titmice,they are flighty too---i haven't gotten one yet!! oh,by the way,great capture

Your Titmouse is a close cousin. Both are in the family Paridae, along with other Titmice and Chickadees
I really love these birds. Great captures.. they are challenging

You need to get about as far south as Albuquerque and poke around in the scrub oak and pines.
