Crossin' the CCC on a chilly morn....
No, that's not a blues song- but should be... I wasn't exactly thrilled driving the "Crescent City Connection" which takes one over the Mississippi River, between New Orleans and the "West Bank". But the sun came up and the world looked a little brighter...
Out there playing in traffic again, Fumi? One of these days you're gonna get squashed.
And just to get a picture? Even if its a good picture?
You may be deranged. Or worse.
(One Mississippi... two Mississippi... three Mississippi.... SPLAT!)
You may be right, Jim... but NOLA residents pay little attention to signs or common sense- that stuff's for tourists! There was a time... on the Denali Highway, having spent the night catching grayling (lots of grayling) and swilling wine outta the bottle ('cause it was summer and beautiful) that, with the Beemer's top down, sat on the driver's seat headrest and steered with my feet... idle speed of course... still swilling wine and reeking of grayling... it was a beautiful morning... I met few cars- locals, at 4:00AM, who waved and grinned and gave a thumbs up... I didn't take many pictures in those Alaska days- certainly wish I had- but that was probably the most daring of my distracted driving adventures.... In today's world, and digital photos, it doesn't take much talent to hold a camera for a "spray and pray" session. And I KNOW!! you do it too! Yours just look better than mine!!
And you KNOW!! I do it too? Eh? Wot? You know that how, exactly? Me? Swill down wine straight outta the bottle? As if there's any other way to swill wine down? When the top's down and its 4am and I'm steering the Beemer (which is actually a Jeep, but from a distance the two look so very much alike) with my feet? And there's graylings everywhere?
You must have me confused with somebody else.
Or you've got those spy drones of yours up and running or something nefarious like that. You Alphabet Agency guys are all alike!
Sorry, Jim, I didn't mean to paint you with too large a brush, I'll clarify my statement in that you, too, have been known to shoot from a moving vehicle. In regard to foot controlled vehicles- Fred Flintstone may be my only competitor- unless you want to confess to a certain Bohemian dexterity? I'm guessing you wouldn't object to a five weight fly rod and all the cooperative grayling you need... a creek chilled chardonnay is presumed....

So that was you in the Beemer on the Denali Highway!! You were not just swilling wine, you were spilling wine...on the drivers side door of my big red Ford Diesel F250. I didn't mind because it was summer and beautiful...
Amid this sparkling and enlightening repartee, I would like to add that I like the shot.

Heck, Chief, if you'd stay in your lane you wouldn't get dribbles on your door! Of course, all lanes are mine... besides, I think those dribbles were on your door before I came along!!
Nice shot--that’s pretty neat.
THANKS! John! I'll admit to being impressed with the sharpness of f/1.4... had this Sigma for several weeks and am trying to use it exclusively for a while... seeing life at 50mm... but it's a bit boring...
I would just call that one awesome photo. For the wall.
