Thought about blithering on about the life/death aspect of these, but what came to mind was too blither-y. First one only happens after a lot of rain, and is usually gone after a few hours of sunlight. Second one is maybe 5' in diameter, steep-sided and who knows how deep; whatever falls in there isn't going to get out alive. Third one is in a relatively sheltered place, and almost always has water (and fairy shrimp, waterstriders, and the occasional spadefoot toad hatchling) in it. Found a Little Brown Bat in that one once, and it was none too successfully trying to struggle its way out. I placed a couple of sticks such that it could crawl its way out. If it used its bat-sense. Don't know if it ever did; all I know is that the bat wasn't there the next day.

Seen some pot hole shots turned into the Eye of God or some such-artsy but not always so very beautiful. Your shots are beautiful!

Very nice ... each photo ... my favorite is the landscape... the canyon wall, pillars and the small cloud create a nice localized reflection symmetry within a stunning scene.

They're beautiful We should replace some of the ones we have on the expressways around here with a couple of those that look better

Actually, no, Jill; didn't need any dog food. Already had some in the form of two young and tender kittehs who I'm sure would make a tasty snack for the dog I don't have. And if I had a dog, I'd fight 'im for these kittehs, 'cuz as young and tender as they are, I'm sure one or the other (or maybe both?) of 'em will make a tasty snack for me one day soon.

Sweet & Sour Cat! Broiled Cat au Jus with a baked potato & broccoli! CLT (cat, lettuce & tomato) sammitches! Cat Benedict! Catdogs (huh?) w/mustard, onions & chili! Catburger w/Swiss, mushrooms & a Secret Sauce, fries & a Bud Lite! No, Bud Lite sucks. Let's make that a TireBiter Lager..... or maybe a Polygamy Porter. Mmmmmmmmm!

'Scuse me now, gotta go. Gotta run down to the store to get a six-pack (or two) of something tasty. Or maybe a nice Chianti and some Fava beans.

LOL, I love your sense of humor. Here in Iowa when we talk "cat"recipes we mean catfish. For supper tonight I actually had fresh caught perch, a friend caught while ice fishing. I agree Bud sucks and the best beers are lagers from a local brewery.

If you're comfortable paying for a little blasting, sawing, chipping and the general grunt work of a skilled team of pothole purloiners --and you're okay with paying the applicable city, county, state, and/or galactic taxes--, I'd be happy to set you right up, Joe. There'll be minor shipping (and packing, handling and cartage) charges, too, but those shouldn't be too much of an issue, should they? I will, of course, apply a reasonable "friends" discount toward my usual finder's fee, which I'm sure you'll agree will sweeten the deal considerably.

Your shipping address is ..........? And did you want that overnight or what?
