A visit to Tropical Park.
Yesterday morning I woke up at around 5:30 AM for a visit to Tropical Park, one of my favorite parks here in Miami to try my luck at the sunrise. Fortunately not many people were present. The sky was showing signs of an impending storm but lucky enough it did not rain till late in the evening. The sunrise was fighting behind the clouds to show all of its beauty. It finally made it.
Tropical Park could easily be one of the largest parks in metropolitan Miami. As a matter of fact it comprises 275 acres of land and attracts close to one and a half million visitors each year. Weekends are a nightmare, too many people and parking is hard to find.
There was a very pleasant 76 degrees Fahrenheit temperature with a cool breeze from the Northeast. I was using my Nikon D610 with the 24-85 f3.5-4.5 AF-S, VR lens.
I had my tripod with me so I disabled VR since all the exposures were made with the camera on the tripod.
In my previous visits I have selected different subjects around the park but this time I decided to direct my attention to the landscape. The light was soft, it was mostly cloudy. I had to lift the contrast and saturate the colors to my taste during editing.
Incidentally, by the entrance there was a center to test and vaccinate for Covid-19. By the time I was exiting the park a few people were arriving to be tested and vaccinated.
It was a nice outing and I had a good time. I am pleased with the images. I hope you like them too.
Beautiful images William!
Thank you Bill. I was not shooting works of art I was simply out to spend some time shooting outdoors. I had plenty of time to observe the subject and plan the shot.
It reminded me of when I was using film.
Like them all but love 1 and 4!
I am guessing 2. 3 & 4 are multi-exposure HDR? Great captures and colours. Thanks for sharing. Please stay safe.
Yes, 2,3 and 4 are HDR photographs. I am experimenting with it since I have neglected using HDR in the past. I keep on practicing.
Thank you for the nice comments.
