These are mountain Jays from my cabin in the North Cascades about a 2 hour drive from Vancouver, BC.
Never a dull moment with these smart and noisy bandits.

Wow. What a crest. Great shots. Johnny. As dark as they are I bet they were a challenge.
Beautiful captures, compositions and renderings of these pretty birds. Thanks for sharing. Please stay safe.

Thank you Bill! They are quite hard to shoot because they are so dark and never stop for more than a moment.
They are wary at first but very curious and social, so finding them isn't the problem. Always in a noisy group, they find you. Sunlight comes through the tree canopy there so you get really bright patches in the deep shade which isn't ideal either as you know.
Beautiful set of beautiful birds, Johnny!
Nice set. A little dark though.
I like 'em! I used to live in Western Washington so I've seen a lot of them and know the difficulties of getting good shots of them. You did a great job Johnny.

Thank you tcthome! Agree that they are a little dark but started out darker. I have edited the shadows to
bring out the detail while trying to keep the shady, in the woods look. My taste usually runs to the dark side
so it's my fault.
