Some of the shots I made during our recent snow event. I measured it at 14 inches, but failed to take a photo-go figure!?!
We put bird seed and suet out on our porch rails for the birds only when it snows. They do have difficulty finding food when things are covered in snow! Otherwise we feed them in our barnyard area.
The Chickoree Squirrel chased off the birds-they took to the trees nearby. The birds were stacked up pretty closely-cheek by jowl almost- while waiting for me to chase the squirrel off-again! Note the Fox Sparrow just above the Golden-crowned Sparrow.I did not have time to go for a wider lens/camera to show all of the birds in the trees near me. I did not wish to miss the tableau unfolding before me.
I missed the the Stellar's Jay shots. The squirrel chased them off- three of them- and squatted over the seed. The Juncos buzzed him a few times but did not peck him. Could not capture good shots of the buzzing Juncos- low shutter speed-1/500. F5.6, ISO 5000, a couple somewhat lower. Topaz and other pp no polarizer, EC+1.3. D500, 500pF. It was a very dark, snowing day. About 26 F with a steady freezing breeze.
So I approached the little brown devil to allow the birds a chance-it was very cold and nasty out just then. The squirrel was less than pleased with my approach-slow but purposeful though I was. He hissed and spit almost like a cat. Reared up but noted he was overmatched and departed the fix at the speed of heat! Birds almost landed on me while getting at the seed. Some fun-time during that crappy snowstorm :-(

Enjoy! Stay warm and dry and safe!
Good shots under any circumstances! I have my own snow, not as deep, but I have seen your depth and far worse! I don't miss a snow shot in your set. ;-)
